What is yoga to me and why change is needed

The earth is sick, people are feeling more lost than ever, times are getting more challenging….you know the drama that is unfolding…there is a solution…

YOGA

for me yoga is about beginning to understand that I can change things and make a difference. Firstly it was with my body, I began to feel and change contraction and tightness into expansion and flexibility…this amazingly to me, not only occurred in my body but also in my mind. My limiting belief systems have slowly been falling away and importantly I have been replacing them with new ways of looking at life, new visions and inspirations, not so much from a thinking perspective but more a FEELING perspective, now I find myself looking through eyes of a new person, a transformation is taking place. Somewhere along the line, my desire to heal myself outgrew my addiction to failure, emotional challenges, greed, control, domination…the list is long:)

I have been channelling this new life force (that is growing as a result of not having to maintain my STORIES) into being creative, inspired by people around me including YOU and my desire to make a change in the way things are… and to repeat, yoga for me is knowing that i can make a difference in what i focus on. I am focusing on making a BIG change.

In my mind the big problems of the world are:
1. Separation – as long as people feel separate they will always feel like they are needing something more, usually looking for external gratification (consumerism) to fulfill that insatiable desire for true love – connectedness.
2. Greed – we are no longer masters of our own domains, we are taught what to think, how to think, what to buy, how to live life etc. The greatest tool is the MEDIA, television and advertising are the culprits in telling us what love looks like (days of our lives) what we should wear (lora jane) . If you don’t have a dream of your own there are people, corporations and governments who are compelled to create one for you. The goal of these institutions is for one thing PROFIT….PROFIT…..PROFIT…every year these profits must get bigger to satisfy the investors and shareholders of the globalised, multinational corporations that tell us how to live.

Not that consuming things is bad, its just that we are WAY OUT OF BALANCE in that regard, most people work in order to buy stuff and pay off debt. My adventures have taught me a lot, good and not so good, like everything you take from it what works or resonates with you.
