Jo brings her life's journey to her yoga practice and teaching. From her initial explorations in movement and her dances with gravity as a gymnast; through her studies and detailed knowledge of the body gained as a physiotherapist; to her over 1000 hours of yoga teacher training, 18+ years of practice and 11 years of teaching.
Crystallising all that she has learned and bringing it together, Jo's classes are intelligently sequenced, creative, playful, dynamic and nourishing. Jo guides you to explore the freedom and flow of movement that arises when you are grounded in alignment and strength. Journeying safely through the gateway of the body, Jo's classes guide you towards something deeper. Sprinkling the practice with philosophy and humour and linking movement to breath, Jo creates a moving meditation and an invitation into all that yoga has to offer.
Jo is part of the teacher training team at BodyMindLife and is continually inspired by the discovery, learning, unfolding and transformation that takes place over the course of each training. Always eager to dive deeper into yoga and share more, Jo also leads retreats annually in Bali and the Hunter Valley.
Jo has had many wonderful teachers and honours them for their wisdom, passion and guidance, particularly Shiva Rea, Twee Merrigan, Ana Forrest and Sinhee McCabe. She has also learned from Nicole Walsh, Baron Baptiste, Simon Borg Olivier, John Friend, Louisa Sear, Rose Baudin, Maty Ezraty, Tiffany Cruikshank, Jambo Truong, her colleagues, her students and of course her family.
Jo bows to them all, but especially to her greatest teachers in life...her husband and her two amazing children.
