Our Teaching Team: Teacher Training is led by Kat Clayton and Noelle Connolly and enriched by the knowledge of expert guest teachers.
Noelle Connolly: Noelle’s powerful and creative teaching creates space for students to pursue their practice with vigour and drive. A technical teacher, she is passionate about form and endlessly inspired to harness the subtleties of the energetic body to defy gravity and move fluidly through space. Noelle gives her all to her students, with strong, challenging and intelligently sequenced classes created to engage, inform and inspire. She feels honoured and blessed to share the knowledge of her teachers and mentors, including Maty Ezraty, Shiva Rea, Joan Hyman and Simon Park, in an authentic way.
Kat Clayton: Kat leads with a compassionate, creative teaching style which radiates positive energy and warmth. She provides a safe and challenging space for students to deepen their connection to body, mind, and heart. Kat completed her first 200 Hour training at BodyMindLife in 2007 and holds a BA degree in Psychology. She combines over 10 years experience teaching yoga, dance and snowboarding with inspiration from her teachers including Maty Ezraty, Simon Park, Baron Baptiste and many others. With a strong passion for sharing the transformative power of practice, yogic philosophy and mindfulness combined with her deep love for facilitating connection & personal growth at all levels – compels Kat to guide, teach and support others on their yoga journey.
Course Dates: 7am-5pm from Monday 8th July to Friday 9th August
The program takes place over one month, running from Monday to Friday with weekends free.

Accreditation: BodyMindLife’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program is accredited by both the internationally recognised Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia. To become certified as a yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance you must complete an accredited 200 hour teacher training. Yoga Australia requires the completion of 350 hours of training.

Training Facilities: Our dedicated training facilities will be your home for the duration of your journey. They feature light and spacious practice spaces, a Yogi Lounge for relaxation, secure lockers, and kitchen, bathroom and shower facilities. Located at Level 1, 84 Mary Street, Surry Hills they are a two minute walk from Central Station, a short train ride from Sydney Airport and close to public transport.

As the Founder of BodyMindLife, Phil has a passion for people, yoga, inspired leadership, community and business. Phil found yoga and meditation after 10 years of trading financial markets and knows first hand of its transformative effects from high-stress environments.
Noelle has a boundless curiosity for the practice, and is constantly driven to explore. She has a deep passion for inversions, harnessing the subtleties of the energetic body to defy gravity and move fluidly through space. Noelle’s classes are strong, creative and intelligently sequenced. Created to engage, refine and inspire, they are set to a background of meticulously curated music. She likes her students to leave class feeling informed, empowered and rejuvenated.
Kat offers an engaging, challenging, fun, enthusiastic and compassionate teaching style which radiates positive energy and warmth from the moment you step into her class.
Skilfully weaving in classical alignment and mindfulness with creative dynamic sequencing and thought provoking philosophy, Kat provides a fun and challenging space for students to deepen their practice, challenge their limitations, and reconnect to body, breath, mind and heart, usually with an arm balance or two!
She draws inspiration from yogic philosophy, Eastern philosophy and Western science, and combines her deep love for learning and teaching with her passion for empowering students to focus on the skill of alignment, subtlety of breath and mindfulness. Her aim is to have her students leave the classroom feeling light, more fully alive, peaceful and connected, and to carry that out into the world.
Sarah loves to create purposeful sequencing that prepare the body to move towards deep, expansive poses in an intelligent way. Her playful classes often incorporate music, mandalas, theming and props, switching on the brain as well as the body and challenging her students to pay attention.
Jo brings her life's journey to her yoga practice and teaching. From her initial explorations in movement and her dances with gravity as a gymnast; through her studies and detailed knowledge of the body gained as a physiotherapist; to her over 1000 hours of yoga teacher training, 18+ years of practice and 11 years of teaching.
Crystallising all that she has learned and bringing it together, Jo's classes are intelligently sequenced, creative, playful, dynamic and nourishing. Jo guides you to explore the freedom and flow of movement that arises when you are grounded in alignment and strength. Journeying safely through the gateway of the body, Jo's classes guide you towards something deeper. Sprinkling the practice with philosophy and humour and linking movement to breath, Jo creates a moving meditation and an invitation into all that yoga has to offer.
Jo is part of the teacher training team at BodyMindLife and is continually inspired by the discovery, learning, unfolding and transformation that takes place over the course of each training. Always eager to dive deeper into yoga and share more, Jo also leads retreats annually in Bali and the Hunter Valley.
Jo has had many wonderful teachers and honours them for their wisdom, passion and guidance, particularly Shiva Rea, Twee Merrigan, Ana Forrest and Sinhee McCabe. She has also learned from Nicole Walsh, Baron Baptiste, Simon Borg Olivier, John Friend, Louisa Sear, Rose Baudin, Maty Ezraty, Tiffany Cruikshank, Jambo Truong, her colleagues, her students and of course her family.
Jo bows to them all, but especially to her greatest teachers in life...her husband and her two amazing children.
As a mother, writer, performer and Yoga teacher, Rachael is passionate about story telling and creating. She lives by the mantra ‘Do your practice and all is coming’ by Shri Pattabhi Jois and lives and breathes the yoga sutras on and off the mat.
Rachael’s background in movement spans 25 years, firstly as a rhythmic gymnast and later studying French physical theatre in Paris at L’Ecole Philippe Gaulier. She has completed over 800 hours of certification under the guidance of Jessica Stickler as well as the 300 hour Jivamukti, 200 hour Samadhi and 30 hour Samadhi Prenatal Teacher Trainings. Her classes are a creative exploration into the philosophy and psychology of yoga. Rachael is eternally grateful to all her teachers, especially Sharon Gannon, David Life, Yogeswari, Katie Manitsas, Jessica Stickler, Eileen Hall, Bianca Machliss and Katie Agnew.
