This alignment-based vinyasa teacher training program is designed for those who have already graduated from a 200 hour program, and are ready to take their practice and teaching skills to the next level. Balancing traditional with contemporary, art with science, and theory with practice, graduates will be eligible for 500 hour certification with Yoga Alliance
The Heart of Vinyasa teacher training focuses on four main components:
1. Advancing your Practice
Daily progressive asana, pranayama and meditation that builds throughout the entire training. Fun, smart, challenging and transformational.
2. Anatomically Informed Alignment and Technique
Learn Heart of Vinyasa’s alignment principles, understand physiology, anatomy and the mechanics of common injuries in a way that informs your practice and teaching- creating sustainability, intelligence and progression
3. Advanced Teaching Methodology
Strengthen your cueing, learn powerful theming, explore creative use of props for supportive and advanced practices, learn advanced hands-on assists and masterful sequencing
4. The Heart of Yoga: Philosophy + Energetics
Explore, discuss and bring the key messages of yoga philosophy to life for the contemporary world. Explore the energetic body and its corresponding practices involving chanting, the chakras, vayus, granthis and bandhas.
Guest faculty include: Noelle Connolly (Yoga), Oliver Crossley (Physiotherapist), and Heidi Trigar (Bhakti).
Module 1: May 15- May 29th
Module 2: July 17th- July 31st
Dates and Time: 8:30am-5:30pm daily

About Duncan Parviainen: Originally from Canada, Duncan now lives in Australia and has been teaching yoga since 2007. He is an ERYT 500 and has trained hundreds of teachers across the globe in 200hr and 300hr trainings. Duncan originally attended university for Biomedical Sciences and then later, Performance Dance, as a result his teaching draws both on the science and the art of the yoga practice. His style is best described as alignment-based vinyasa and is known to balance detail and technique with creativity and light-heartedness. He has been strongly influenced by Anusara Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Annie Carpenter’s SmartFLOW, Jason Crandell’s Vinyasa Yoga Method and Baba Hari Dass’s Classical Hatha.
