Parents & Bubs Classes will rebuild strength and flexibility in the postpartum body and give you the opportunity to connect with your baby. Expect a range of yoga poses that will help rebuild your core strength, realign the spine, hips and pelvis, and release muscle tension around the shoulders and upper spine caused by breast-feeding and carrying your bub. All babies are welcome, pre-walking.

As a fully certified Personal Trainer, her focus is on form and movement, while encouraging clients to get the most out of their training. In 2015 she added Barre Attack to her repertoire, because she wanted to test herself (and her dance moves!). As a healthy living advocate and mother of two, Carla understands everyone leads busy lives but that if we love what we're doing, and nurture our body, we can achieve great thing.

In the Hindu religious tradition, ?nanda signifies eternal bliss, understood to be at very core of the human experience. Yoga is a practice aiming at conscious union with this blissful foundation of our being (Sat-Chit-Ananda). As such, yoga has been part of Ananda’s life from the time of her conception; however, she has been teaching yoga for 10 years, and practicing many more. Ananda is a dedicated SmartFLOW certified teacher and teacher trainer, who is known to teach with humour, grace, and technical precision. As a former yoga studio owner, Ananda cultivated community and culture of teaching and practice with the SmartFLOW methodology. Through many years of love and hard work, she instilled an indelible sense of curiosity and awareness in her teachers and students. Her dedication to the process and practice of yoga continues to remind us that life is in state of constant change. She believes yoga is deep listening, an act of physical and mental attuning, which increases the possibility for personal change. Yoga allows for a greater range of movement, so we might be able to adapt and grow in harmony with the moment. Ananda continues to study and apprentice with her beloved teacher Annie Carpenter.

Being a mum to two small boys, Ilana understands what it's like to live life chaotically. For the past 10 years, Yoga has been something that Ilana has used to find some clarity and peace of mind when things got a bit tough.
In 2010 she completed yoga teacher training in Australia and has been lucky enough to study with some well known Australian yoga community teachers including Clive Sheridan, Sindar Kaur, Mark Breadner, Christina Brown and Ana Davis. Since then she has continued to develop her skills and knowledge through Shiva Rea’s Fluid Power Teacher Training facilitated by Simon Park and BodyMindLife’s Art of Alignment & Assisting.Her passion for teaching pre and post-natal yoga naturally evolved after falling pregnant with her sons. She definitely attributes yoga to positively transforming her birthing experience as well as giving her the tools to approach becoming a first time mother with great confidence and strength.Ilana’s classes are playful, energetic and fun. Additional to her Pilates qualifications Narelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise & Health Science, a Diploma in Fitness and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.Having worked in some of Sydney’s best private Pilates studios she has diverse experience with the Pilates equipment including the Cadillac, Wunda Chair & Reformer. She has a nurturing and confident approach to issues and injuries within the body and strongly believes Pilates is for everybody. Vicki discovered yoga by accident in London over 10 years ago when she was working as a Senior Consultant in the Marketing recruitment industry. Her usual spin class was full, so she found herself in pigeon instead. A love affair began which continues today.Once she moved to Sydney she embarked on the first of many teacher trainings, and has now undertaken over 1000 hours of study with international teachers such as Tara Judelle, Noah Maze, Christina Sell, John Friend, and it is with her dear teachers Tara and Scott Lyons, who she continues her training with in the system of Embodied Flow™.

With experience in power vinyasa, anusara, yin and restorative yoga and Embodied Flow™, Vicki is passionate about intelligent movement which draws influence from many modalities. In the spirit of ‘seva’ or ‘service’, this Open level yoga class is offered to our community on a donation basis (minimum $5). Charlotte has always loved to move her body. After a lifetime of dance, hard times found her in the yoga room where she fell in love with the practice. Under the guidance of LA teacher Noah Maze, she completed her first teacher training, and has continued her yoga education with Simon Park, Noelle Connolly and Kay Clayton at BodyMindLife. Charlotte’s classes bring an alignment focus to the flow, encouraging students to strengthen their practice and open their bodies without injury. She teaches students how yoga can benefit both on the mat and in their daily lives. Off the mat you can find her writing, cooking, traveling or as close as possible to the beach.

Being a mum to two small boys, Ilana understands what it's like to live life chaotically. For the past 10 years, Yoga has been something that Ilana has used to find some clarity and peace of mind when things got a bit tough.
In 2010 she completed yoga teacher training in Australia and has been lucky enough to study with some well known Australian yoga community teachers including Clive Sheridan, Sindar Kaur, Mark Breadner, Christina Brown and Ana Davis. Since then she has continued to develop her skills and knowledge through Shiva Rea’s Fluid Power Teacher Training facilitated by Simon Park and BodyMindLife’s Art of Alignment & Assisting.Her passion for teaching pre and post-natal yoga naturally evolved after falling pregnant with her sons. She definitely attributes yoga to positively transforming her birthing experience as well as giving her the tools to approach becoming a first time mother with great confidence and strength.Ilana’s classes are playful, energetic and fun. Yoga Open classes offer an energetic yoga flow with strong poses and creative sequencing, designed to challenge and inspire both physically and mentally.

Temperature: Classes are unheated but, as we don’t use air conditioning, the room will still be warm in summer. We recommend that you come hydrated, dress light, and bring a towel and water. If you are injured or pregnant please let your teacher know before class begins.

Pregnancy: Experienced yogis are welcome to attend after a check in with your doctor. We ask that you attend at least two Prenatal yoga classes before coming to class, so you can learn how to modify to suit the stage of your pregnancy. We do not recommend practising yoga during your first trimester.

YOUR TEACHER - Bevan Pfeiffer

Bevan has been athletic since he was a kid, drawn to many sports and playing rugby league at state level. Along with his athletic side he always had a burning passion to be creative. It was in 2008 when deciding to do an acting course in which he discovered yoga. His curiosity was piqued, for the first time he felt a connection that linked his mind body and soul together that he never felt before. This led him down a path of Hatha, Bikram, Iyengar before settling into a daily meditation and Vinyasa practice. After graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with a degree in acting, Bevan was ready to deepen his understanding of yoga both spiritually and practically, and decided to complete his teacher training with BodyMindLife under the guidance of his teachers Noelle Connolly, Kat Clayton and additional training with Joan Hyman and Shiva Rea in India. With an understanding of contemporary movement styles blended with his knowledge of anatomy and a deep understanding of yoga asana Bevan is passionate about creating an experience which will leave you feeling completely present in a world where we are constantly distracted.

YOUR TEACHER - Andy Amos

Andy began exploring different systems and traditions of meditation while living in London in his late 20’s. A diagnosis of type 1 diabetes a few years later left him shocked and led him to his first teacher, Erica Bagshaw, who encouraged him to train in metaphysics and meditation and, in turn, to teach.
He has studied extensively with scientist and holistic healer Doctor Reza Samvat, exploring the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, delved into Buddhist and Hindu traditions, and also the work of contemporary teachers and philosophers including Ramana Maharshi, Swami Rama, J. Krishnamurti, Osho, Alice Bailey, Herman Hesse, Thich Nhat Hanh, Ram Dass, Jack Kornfield, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle and the Heart Math Institute.Andy teaches from experience, using practical and accessible tools and techniques that are easily applied to daily life.

YOUR TEACHER - Daragh Byrne

Daragh has traditionally made his living with the power of his mind, having been involved in science and software development for most of his professional life. Ensuring that the mind is in good working order can be challenging. Daragh teaches meditation as a practical tool for helping to establish mental clarity and calm in the face of the stresses of the modern world .Having personally benefited from meditation practices for over a decade, Daragh has deepened his exploration through a number of modalities and traditions, including Mindfulness Based Stress reduction, the Western Insight tradition, various other Buddhist traditions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and modern science-based programs such as Search Inside Yourself. Daragh is a Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation (The Gawler Foundation) teacher and a RYT 200 yoga teacher.

YOUR TEACHER - Narelle Clark

Narelle is a fully registered Pilates instructor, comprehensively trained by the Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA) in 2007. This registration enables clients to receive rebates from their health insurance companies if they have Pilates rehabilitation included in their cover. Additional to her Pilates qualifications Narelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise & Health Science, a Diploma in Fitness and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.Having worked in some of Sydney’s best private Pilates studios she has diverse experience with the Pilates equipment including the Cadillac, Wunda Chair & Reformer. She has a nurturing and confident approach to issues and injuries within the body and strongly believes Pilates is for everybody. She loves interacting with people and not only shares her Pilates and health knowledge but she loves to educate clients about their body - empowering them to achieve a higher level of wellbeing .On a personal level, Narelle is a Surry Hills girl, born and bred in the area with strong historical connections to the areas colorful past. When not teaching Pilates she is busy with her two children. Narelle currently teaches at our Surry Hills and Bondi studios and is available for private sessions.

Kevin believes in empowering people through positive mind, breath and body connections. He is passionate about teaching movement patterns that build a strong, flexible, lengthened and stable body. A professional dancer, his Pilates classes are strong, precise and peppered with references to Liza Minnelli and Bob Fosse. He feels that a strong and flexible body is reflected in how we feel about ourselves and how we operate in our daily lives.

Cloe originally started taking Pilates classes 7 years ago to rehabilitate a back injury. She soon fell in love with the way Pilates made her body feel and the confidence it gave her to move fearlessly and pain free. Cloe loved the creativity of the Pilates method and the adaptability for all ages and fitness levels. So, five years ago with an enduring love of fitness and movement, it seemed a natural progression to leave the corporate world and become a Pilates teacher.Cloe has since completed Breathe Education Cert IV Pilates, STOTT Mat Pilates, KX Pilates Dynamic Reformer and KX Barre, and is currently undertaking a Diploma of Clinical Pilates with Breathe Education as well as training to be a Pilates Teacher Trainer. Following a successful teaching career in Melbourne where Cloe become a highly sought after teacher in some of the most well respected studios in Melbourne she moved to Bondi Beach in June 2016 for a sea change, where she immediately fell in love with the beauty and energy of the place.Cloe's classes are intelligent, challenging, high energy and fun. Yin offers long, meditative yoga holds that release stress and tension from the body, explore subtle energies and penetrate deep into the connective tissues of the body. Restful and meditative, positions may be held from 3-7 minutes and may be enhanced by supportive props like bolsters, blankets or blocks.

YOUR TEACHER - Alison Bruton

Alison is an inspiring teacher, known for her dynamic style. She has a keen eye for observation and a depth of knowledge steeped in 10 years of teaching and 15 years practice. Through her creative sequencing, clear cues and personal encouragement, she guides students deep into their body with great awareness.Alison discovered ashtanga yoga in London, whilst seeking sanctuary from corporate life. Searching for meaning in life and relief from daily suffering, she found in yoga calmness of mind, confidence and a strong feeling of being centred. She moved to Sydney in 2000 and after having two beautiful babies (now teenagers) and found herself at Bikram Yoga Teacher Training, which gave her discipline and awakened her curiosity for a deeper exploration of her self. Soon after, she completed Power Vinyasa trainings with Baron Baptiste and Power Living Australia, learning the power and grace of moving with the breath. Her enquiry continued on immersions and trainings in Anusara, Haha, Iyengar, Smartflow and Forrest Yoga styles which brought more strength, skilfulness and mindfulness to her practice and teaching."The practice of yoga has become an integral part of my healing and transformation. As a teacher I see myself on this journey of self-discovery with my students."Alison has studied with many renowned yoga teachers, including the four who have the greatest influence on her teaching: Noah Maze, Annie Carpenter, Maty Ezraty and Ana Forrest.
