YOUR TEACHER - Vee Wiesheu

Originally from Munich, Germany, when Vee moved to Sydney in 2009 she fell in love with the beaches. They also made her more body aware and she started running regularly. After a lack of core stability, poor alignment and a long career in hospitality led to a number of injuries, she found Pilates and changed her life!

Vee is passionate about the rehabilitative qualities of the practice and loves to break a sweat, in technical, contemporary whole-body classes that are fast and fun. She loves that everyone – young, old, injured, triathlete, prenatal, postnatal – can enjoy long term benefits from Pilates.

Her mantra? "Your gain is my gain, you owe it to be good to yourself. We only get one shot and this is it.”

Yoga Open classes offer an energetic yoga flow with strong poses and creative sequencing, designed to challenge and inspire both physically and mentally.

Classes vary in focus and pace, and from teacher to teacher, and we encouraged you to move within the boundaries of your experience level. We recommend Yoga Open classes to those with prior yoga experience. If you're new to vinyasa, please attend 4-6 Yoga Essentials classes before trying our Open classes.

Temperature: Classes are heated to approximately 30°C. We do our best to keep the room at a comfortable temperature and recommend that you come hydrated, dress light, and bring a towel and water. If you are injured or pregnant please let your teacher know before class begins.

YOUR TEACHER - Mandy Scotney

Mandy came to yoga in her late thirties - going to a yoga retreat in Byron Bay and then as a student with BodyMindLife. She remembers feeling incredibly challenged by the practice but at the same time she found a peace she’d never previously experienced.

Mandy completed 500 hours of teacher training with Byron Yoga studying with John Ogilvie and Judy Krupp, Body Mind Life's Assisting and Alignment training, 100 hours Yin Yoga Training with Mel McLoughlin and has had the privilege to learn from teachers including Bryan Kest, Les Leventhal, Chanel Luck, Simon Park, Maty Ezraty and our very own Noelle Connolly.

Teaching since 2009 Mandy's classes are intelligently sequenced and well balanced. For newer or more experienced students alike she works to make her classes both accessible and challenging and she ensures you'll leave feeling nurtured, restored and rejuvenated.

Aneta is internationally trained STOTT Pilates Instructor, a long-time passionate yogi and sports enthusiast. Aneta is from Prague, Czech Republic. Her fitness journey started in Sydney 2013 where she was exploring various yoga styles, including Vinyasa, Bikram and Kundalini. Whilst in Sydney she was introduced to Pilates and instantly found a connection. She moved back to Europe in 2016 and was teaching Pilates in Barcelona and Prague. Aneta likes to create sessions for each individuals needs from athletes wanting to maximise results, mothers rebuilding their bodies after child birth, rehabilitation from injuries and people who just want better performance from their bodies.

Yoga Open classes offer an energetic yoga flow with strong poses and creative sequencing, designed to challenge and inspire both physically and mentally.

Temperature: Classes temperature is approximately 26°C. The room may be heated to achieve this temperature. As we don’t use air conditioning, the room will still be warm in summer. We recommend that you come hydrated, dress light, and bring a towel and water. If you are injured or pregnant please let your teacher know before class begins.

Pregnancy: Experienced yogis are welcome to attend after a check in with your doctor. We ask that you attend at least two Prenatal yoga classes before coming to class, so you can learn how to modify to suit the stage of your pregnancy. We do not recommend practising yoga during your first trimester.

YOUR TEACHER - Rachael Coopes

As a mother, writer, performer and Yoga teacher, Rachael is passionate about story telling and creating. She lives by the mantra ‘Do your practice and all is coming’ by Shri Pattabhi Jois and lives and breathes the yoga sutras on and off the mat.

Rachael’s background in movement spans 25 years, firstly as a rhythmic gymnast and later studying French physical theatre in Paris at L’Ecole Philippe Gaulier. She has completed over 800 hours of certification under the guidance of Jessica Stickler as well as the 300 hour Jivamukti, 200 hour Samadhi and 30 hour Samadhi Prenatal Teacher Trainings. Her classes are a creative exploration into the philosophy and psychology of yoga. Rachael is eternally grateful to all her teachers, especially Sharon Gannon, David Life, Yogeswari, Katie Manitsas, Jessica Stickler, Eileen Hall, Bianca Machliss and Katie Agnew.

Parents & Bubs Classes will rebuild strength and flexibility in the postpartum body and give you the opportunity to connect with your baby. Expect a range of yoga poses that will help rebuild your core strength, realign the spine, hips and pelvis, and release muscle tension around the shoulders and upper spine caused by breast-feeding and carrying your bub. All babies are welcome, pre-walking.

YOUR TEACHER - Vanessa Mitchell

A devoted student of yoga for over 20 years, Vanessa completed Hatha yoga training at the White Lotus Yoga Foundation in Santa Barbara in 2004 and trained as a PreNatal teacher under Janice Clarfield of Urban Yoga.

Vanessa’s classes combine her unique blend of hatha yoga, vinyasa flow, birthing preparation techniques and conscious relaxation to encourage a strong yet safe practice for pregnant Mums. She teaches a series of flow and static asana – combined with vocal, pelvic floor and abdominal toning techniques – designed specifically to promote strength and elasticity and enhance the energy of body and mind, preparing mums to approach birth calm and confidence.

Sarah is inspired and informed by her teachers, Noelle Connolly, Megan Currie, Kate Gillespie, Amica Hilton, Maty Ezraty and Simon Park, and is part of the Teacher Training Team at BodyMindLife.

YOUR TEACHER - Gemma Mills

Gemma’s first experience of yoga was in a tough Iyengar class in Leeds, UK. Originally a kickboxer, she loved the balance that it brought to her body and the mental clarity and health.

Taking her first teacher training with Holly Coles at Preshana Vinyasa in 2014, Gemma has since completed Shiva Rea’s Mandala of Asanas with Chanel Luck, as well as Intermediate teacher training at BodyMindLife with Simon Park, Noelle Connolly, Jo Gates and Kat Clayton. Gemma’s classes are fun, flowing and uplifting, and set to an ever-evolving playlist of music that adds fluidity and a dance-like aspect to the practise.

YOUR TEACHER - Ari Levanael

A well-travelled teacher, performer, photographer and adventurer, Ari teaches from the heart, uniting mind and body in a unique style that embraces both the traditional and the radical.

He has taught the physical disciplines of aerial acrobatics, gymnastics, stretching and circus skills for over 16 years and brings some of his favourite styles of yoga, including Jivamukti, Dharma Ashtanga, Rocket and Forrest yoga to his dynamic and flowing classes.

Ari completed his Yoga Alliance accredited 500+ hours teacher training in Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga, with teacher Bharath Shetty at Aanana Yoga in Mysore, India. A life changing experience, it opened a physical and spiritual awareness and rewarded him with a wealth of knowledge that he is happy to share with his students.

His practice and teaching style continues to evolve with the inspiration of his students, teacher and notably, BKS Iyengar, Sri K Pattabhi Jois, Dharma Mittra, Sharon Gannon and David Life.

Pilates Align classes are for those who are new to Pilates or more experienced practitioners who want to fine-tune their current practice and technique. Yoga Open classes offer an energetic yoga flow with strong poses and creative sequencing, designed to challenge and inspire both physically and mentally.

Classes vary in focus and pace, and from teacher to teacher, and we encouraged you to move within the boundaries of your experience level. We recommend Yoga Open classes to those with prior yoga experience. If you're new to vinyasa, please attend 4-6 Yoga Essentials classes before trying our Open classes.
