Yoga Open classes offer an energetic yoga flow with strong poses and creative sequencing, designed to challenge and inspire both physically and mentally.

Classes vary in focus and pace, and from teacher to teacher, and we encouraged you to move within the boundaries of your experience level. We recommend Yoga Open classes to those with prior yoga experience. If you're new to vinyasa, please attend 4-6 Yoga Essentials classes before trying our Open classes.

Temperature: Classes are heated to approximately 30°C. We do our best to keep the room at a comfortable temperature and recommend that you come hydrated, dress light, and bring a towel and water. If you are injured or pregnant please let your teacher know before class begins.

YOUR TEACHER - David Coulibaly

Growing up in France, David’s athletic background started from a young age; playing high level soccer for many years and more recently turned his focus to professional boxing. However, it was here in Australia that David found his passion for yoga, a daily practice that offered him not only a physical challenge, but also integrated spirituality. Having had a meditation practice since the age of 7, completed his 200 hour Prana Flow training with Shiva Rea, and is now able to holistically combine his love of unique movement and mindfulness. David's classes are dynamic, creative and energetic but he also brings a lightness to his teaching which allows you to relax and have FUN. He loves to dive deeper and share with you a learning or message to inspire and take with you off the mat.

Studying under the Stott Pilates Method, she has never looked back, and has extensive experience teaching Reformer, cadillac, spine corrector, wunda chair and ladder barrel as well as mat Pilates. Paula’s loves to inspire her students to new levels of body awareness which result in fantastic results!

Being a mum to two small boys, Ilana understands what it's like to live life chaotically. For the past 10 years, Yoga has been something that Ilana has used to find some clarity and peace of mind when things got a bit tough.
In 2010 she completed yoga teacher training in Australia and has been lucky enough to study with some well known Australian yoga community teachers including Clive Sheridan, Sindar Kaur, Mark Breadner, Christina Brown and Ana Davis. Since then she has continued to develop her skills and knowledge through Shiva Rea’s Fluid Power Teacher Training facilitated by Simon Park and BodyMindLife’s Art of Alignment & Assisting. Her passion for teaching pre and post-natal yoga naturally evolved after falling pregnant with her sons. She definitely attributes yoga to positively transforming her birthing experience as well as giving her the tools to approach becoming a first time mother with great confidence and strength. Ilana’s classes are playful, energetic and fun. Always trying to encourage students to bring some joy onto the mat and grace into the practice, she believes this will enable them to reach their full potential on and off the mat.

In the spirit of ‘seva’ or ‘service’, this Open level yoga class is offered to our community on a donation basis (minimum $5). Taught by our newer teachers or Teacher Training grads, Yoga Community classes provide a wonderful opportunity to explore the studio and experience a vinyasa flow yoga at little cost. Donations go to carefully selected local charities and organisations which provide yoga therapy, health and wellbeing services to the less privileged.

Kat brings an engaging, compassionate teaching style which radiates positive energy and warmth from the moment you step into her class. Skillfully weaving in dynamic sequencing, yogic philosophy and creative language, Kat provides a fun and challenging space for students to deepen their practice and connect to body, mind and spirit. After graduating with a Bachelor of Art in Psychology, Kat moved to Sydney in 2007 to complete her first 200 Hour training at BodyMindLife. The nature and adventure loving Colorado native has cultivated over 12 years experience as a dance, snowboarding and yoga educator, and is continually inspired by teachers and scholars Simon Park, Maty Ezraty, Baron Baptiste, Ana Forrest, and Georg Feuerstein. Kat is now honoured to lead the Yoga Teacher Training programme at BodyMindLife where she facilitates yoga classes, workshops, retreats, 200 & 350 hour teacher trainings. She combines her love for learning and teaching with her passion for empowering students to focus on the subtle energetic and physical alignment, yogic philosophy, psychology, yoga and mindfulness.

Having worked in some of Sydney’s best private Pilates studios she has diverse experience with the Pilates equipment including the Cadillac, Wunda Chair & Reformer. She has a nurturing and confident approach to issues and injuries within the body and strongly believes Pilates is for everybody. She loves interacting with people and not only shares her Pilates and health knowledge but she loves to educate clients about their body - empowering them to achieve a higher level of wellbeing .
