“I absolutely love this studio. Each time I step in the lift and can smell the essential oils wafting from Level 1, I noticeably relax. The Surry Hills studio is an amazing open, light and calming space and everyone I have spoken to is very friendly (I definitely prefer this venue over the Potts Point studio). Kat is my absolute favourite yoga instructor. She has an effortless way of making you feel comfortable and have the confidence to give everything/challenge yourself in class. I can’t wait until she is back from Bali so I can take her classes again. “

“Started couple of weeks ago, as first experience in yoga and meditations, I will recommend to others, the studio, teachers are a fantastic and professional, very, comfortable place, clean and make you feel home.  Many options for classes and on, every day.  So if you have to choose for a yoga studio, go for it. 100% happy. “

Surry Hills

CLASS INFORMATION - Reformer Pilates Flow

Pilates Flow build on the foundations built in Align.  You'll move through a challenging series of exercises that incorporate functional movement patterns to strengthen, tone, firm and balance your body, improve posture and prevent injury.  Not suitable for beginners to Reformer Pilates, those with injuries or during pregnancy

YOUR TEACHER - Alison Bruton

Alison is an inspiring teacher, known for her dynamic style. She has a keen eye for observation and a depth of knowledge steeped in 10 years of teaching and 15 years practice. Through her creative sequencing, clear cues and personal encouragement, she guides students deep into their body with great awareness.

Alison discovered ashtanga yoga in London, whilst seeking sanctuary from corporate life. Searching for meaning in life and relief from daily suffering, she found in yoga calmness of mind, confidence and a strong feeling of being centred. She moved to Sydney in 2000 and after having two beautiful babies (now teenagers) and found herself at Bikram Yoga Teacher Training, which gave her discipline and awakened her curiosity for a deeper exploration of her self. Soon after, she completed Power Vinyasa trainings with Baron Baptiste and Power Living Australia, learning the power and grace of moving with the breath. Her enquiry continued on immersions and trainings in Anusara, Haha, Iyengar, Smartflow and Forrest Yoga styles which brought more strength, skilfulness and mindfulness to her practice and teaching.

"The practice of yoga has become an integral part of my healing and transformation. As a teacher I see myself on this journey of self-discovery with my students."

Alison has studied with many renowned yoga teachers, including the four who have the greatest influence on her teaching: Noah Maze, Annie Carpenter, Maty Ezraty and Ana Forrest.

YOUR TEACHER - Laura P Peasley

Laura has always been fascinated with physical movement and its effect on her state of being. Four years ago, she was drawn to yoga as a reprieve from her office job and a means of exercise. She quickly fell in love with all aspects of the practice and the sense of coming home it provides. What began as a lunch-time obsession has started a lifelong journey. Now, Laura wants to help people find balance, space and stillness and encourage them to reawaken to their sensing bodies and inner wisdom. Yoga Open 30°C

Rebecca B Barrett

Surry Hills

CLASS INFORMATION - Yoga Open 30°C

Yoga Open classes offer an energetic yoga flow with strong poses and creative sequencing, designed to challenge and inspire both physically and mentally.

Classes vary in focus and pace, and from teacher to teacher, and we encouraged you to move within the boundaries of your experience level. We recommend Yoga Open classes to those with prior yoga experience. If you're new to vinyasa, please attend 4-6 Yoga Essentials classes before trying our Open classes.

Temperature: Classes are heated to approximately 30°C. We do our best to keep the room at a comfortable temperature and recommend that you come hydrated, dress light, and bring a towel and water. If you are injured or pregnant please let your teacher know before class begins.

YOUR TEACHER - Rebecca B Barrett

Rebecca discovered yoga whilst working in a stressful and unfulfilling job as a lawyer. Initially inspired by the tangible physical benefits, with time she noticed a mental shift too. It became clear to her that although many of us tick all the boxes in the material world, we do not take time to cultivate our internal world, so we feel empty. Yoga can give that spiritual fulfilment as a system of techniques. You don’t even have to excel at these techniques. Just keep showing up on the mat and using them, and you will see positive results. It became apparent to Rebecca that she should share yoga’s various benefits through teaching.

Rebecca has 1700+ hours of teacher training. Her 200 hour foundational training was with Power Living and she then undertook a further 400 hours at Body Mind Life, including an advanced sequencing course with Noelle Connolly. She has an 800 hour Certificate IV with Byron Yoga Centre, and has most recently completed a 300 hour training with Yoga Beyond and Bryce Yoga.

For Rebecca, yoga is a way to break through boundaries, both physically and mentally. She believes strongly that as we age, our bodies and minds do not have to deteriorate so rapidly, and a consistent yoga practice allows us to keep our ‘yoga glow’ through all stages of life! Her classes are all about playfully testing limits. She uses her gymnastics background as a tool to gently encourage students to explore outside of their comfort zone. There is nothing quite like a well earned savasana!

If it’s your first sauna experience, please arrive 5-10 mins early so we have the opportunity to welcome you and talk you through your first session. The sauna is located within its own private therapy room which will be stocked with a robe, towel and water for your personal use.

Prior to your arrival the sauna will be preheated to 65 degrees celsius for a session duration of 45 minutes. If you need to take a break you are able to enter and exit the sauna as many times as you like during the session. It’s important to make sure you are well hydrated before and after any sauna session for maximum benefit and detoxification. An hour before your sauna try to drink at least 500mls of good quality filtered water.

We recommend you enter the sauna undressed or with minimal garments (ie. swimwear or cotton underwear). For hygiene purposes, we ask that you sit on a towel for the duration of your session.

If you can, limit the amount of personal care products you put on before a session. Clean skin will make it easier for your body to cleanse and clear out all the toxins and impurities.

During your session you have the option to listen to relaxation music, guided meditations and podcasts which can be played through the internal speakers. The sauna has also been fitted with light therapy and we encourage you to experiment with the different colours during your session.

She quickly fell in love with all aspects of the practice and the sense of coming home it provides. What began as a lunch-time obsession has started a lifelong journey. Now, Laura wants to help people find balance, space and stillness and encourage them to reawaken to their sensing bodies and inner wisdom. By linking movement with breath, she encourages students to find freedom and flow mindfully.

Reformer Pilates Align

Amy C Chen

Surry Hills

CLASS INFORMATION - Reformer Pilates Align

Pilates Align classes are for those who are new to Pilates or more experienced practitioners who want to fine-tune their current practice and technique. Enough of a workout to get your endorphins flowing but with an emphasis on control and precision. Suitable for those recovering from injury and post natal clients.

YOUR TEACHER - Amy C Chen

Amy first came to Pilates as part of her recovery from a serious back injury. Having been told her days of high-intensity training were over, she instantly became enamoured with how Pilates made her feel. Not only did it give her time out from a high stress job, she was astounded at the strength and mobility she gained from a regular practice. Slowly, all her other niggling injuries she had also started to dissipate.

Disenchanted with her banking career, Amy’s teachers encouraged her to pursue her STOTT Pilates certification and, in 2015, Amy stepped away from corporate life so she could help others create better lives with strong healthy bodies that move with grace and ease.

Apart from her love of both Pilates and Yoga, Amy also has an unashamed love of cars and motorsport that she inherited from her Dad. She’s watched Bathurst every year since she was 6 years old and still takes great delight in watching cars drive around in circles, mainly because it allows her to put her analytical mind to work trying to work out every team’s race strategy.
